  • Powder Sample Submission.
  • Generally 300 mg to 500 mg of powder sample material are enough. The sample should be ground to a very fine powder.
  • Thin film samples, metals and alloys (with homogenous surface) should be of dimensions around
2 cm x 2 cm, and for metals and alloys the thickness should be around 2 mm to 5 mm.
  • Samples should be submitted personally to the X-Ray Crystallography Lab.
  • For phase identification analysis, it is better to inform us with the starting chemical formula and the expected phases.
  • Your samples will not be accepted without the complete Sample Submission Form. Click the button to view and fill-in this form. Print and bring with your sample(s).

  • The X-ray Crystallography Laboratory staff will examine your sample, collect the data and return the results on a CD (you should bring a blank one) or by e-mail (if requested).
  • You can contact us to ascertain the status of your sample(s).
  • You will be contacted when your results are complete. So, please, avoid contact Laboratory Staff in person.  This usually will interrupt and slow the entire process down.

  • Single Crystal Submission.
  • Single crystal structure determination requires one good crystal, about 1mm. The quality of your crystal could be tested only after mounting and taking couple of frames. So, please send more than one crystal.
  • Describe crystallization conditions, used solvents … etc.
  • Describe crystal stability for air, water … etc.
  • Describe your instructions and precautions.
  • If crystal loses solvent supply crystals in the mother liquor.
  • Samples should be submitted personally to the X-Ray Crystallography Lab.
  • We require the completion of our Sample Submission Form. Click the button to view and fill-in this form. Print and bring with your sample(s).

  • The X-ray Crystallography Laboratory staff will examine your sample and assign it a data collection date.
  • You can contact us to ascertain the status of your sample(s).
  • You will be contacted when your structure is complete. So, please, avoid contact Laboratory Staff in person.  This usually will interrupt your structure determination and slow the entire process down.
